It has been known for quite awhile that the other than conscious mind deals in symbols, patterns, images and concepts as opposed to language. This is part of what allows the other than conscious to make sense of the messages in subliminals that the conscious mind can't make sense of or, in many cases, even detect. Subliminals bombard us every day in advertising images, background music and dozens of other sources. Our politicians (and ad agencies) employ armies of highly trained specialists in the 'science' of hypnotic writing. The current administration is no exception and has raised the bar in many respects on the use of subliminal suggestion and hypnotic language patterns. Read some Joe Vitale for more on this.
But people still doubt that our (or at least their) minds are as powerful as I maintain they are. If they are corporate seminar participants, these doubts are shattered in the first day. But what about those reading the newsgroup who don't get the benefit of a concentrated week or weekend of training in using the hidden powers of the mind?
